Neurodevelopment in Health and Disease

Participating journal: Journal of Molecular Neuroscience

The Journal of Molecular Neuroscience present a new collection featuring the latest innovative discoveries in molecular neuroscience. Neuroscience very often focuses on electrical circuits. Here we concentrate on the molecules walking hand in hand with the electrical circuits, toward the understanding of brain chemistry.

From the laboratory bench to drug development, from young aspiring neurochemists convened at the Satellite conference organized by the European Society for Neurochemistry (ESN), prior to the largest European Neuroscience Meeting (the Federation of the European Societies for Neuroscience (FENS) Forum) to established researchers, we present molecular neuroscience at its best. The registration for the conference link can be found here.

Original papers and reviews on relevant, timely topics will be considered. All submissions will receive at least two peer reviews from independent referees prior to acceptance in the journal.

Carlos B. Duarte is Professor at the University of Coimbra and leader of the Neurotrophin Signalling and Synaptic (dys)Function group at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC, University of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal). His work focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurotrophin-regulated neuronal communication, as well as the alterations of neuronal communication in neurological disorders such as hypoxia, ischemia and epilepsy. He is the current Treasurer of the European Society for Neurochemistry (ESN).
