The International Symposium on Integrated Uncertainty in Knowledge Modelling and Decision Making (IUKM) aims to provide a forum for exchanging research results and ideas for and experience of using applications among researchers and practitioners involved with all aspects of uncertainty management. IUKM 2023 is the tenth edition of the symposium, which will be held in Kanazawa, Japan, 02–04 November, 2023.
In applications of Data and Decision Analytics the uncertainty lies in the noisy data (ambiguous, imprecise, contradictory, missing data) and the unknown (or partly known) model parameters. Such different types of uncertainty come from different sources and require different approaches to handle. This special issue follows IUKM 2023 and solicits both applied and methodological papers focused on any aspect of uncertainty management in Data and Decision Analytics. Especially, participants of the IUKM 2023 Symposium are strongly encouraged to submit their extended and enriched papers to this special issue, fully conforming to the specifications of the Annals of Operations Research as outlined in its Author Guidelines. Note that the contributions arising from papers given at IUKM 2023 or other conferences should be substantially extended, and should cite the conference paper where appropriate. The issue, however, is also open to other relevant contributions that would not be presented at IUKM 2023.
