Recent advances in endoscope technology, coupled with the development of new techniques and equipment, have significantly improved the safety and efficacy of these procedures, enabling clinicians to achieve better patient outcomes and improve the overall quality of care. This Collection aims to collate original research articles that pertain to recent developments in endoscopic techniques and their benefits in the field of gastroenterology.

His major research interests are the acute pancreatitis and advance endoscopy (such as endoscopic ultrasound and endoscopic submucosal dissection).

    Yeong Yeh Lee, MD, Ph.D., FACP, FRCP, FACG, FAMM, AGAF is Professor of Medicine and Consultant of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Internal Medicine of Universiti Sains Malaysia. In addition to BMC Gastroenterology, he is senior editor of a number of journals including the Journal of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, and the Malaysian Journal of Medical Sciences.

    Andrea Lisotti

    Andrea Lisotti completed a fellowship and a Master's in advanced endoscopy at the Gastroenterology Unit of the Hospital of Imola in the University of Bologna, Italy. In recent years, he worked for six months at the Gastroenterology Unit of the Hôpital Privé Jean Mermoz in Lyon, France, where he had the opportunity of getting involved in several interventional endoscopy procedures. Andrea's field of expertise is the diagnostic and interventional biliary-pancreatic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP.

    Kyaw Min Tun

    Dr Kyaw Min Tun is a junior faculty/chief resident of the Internal Medicine residency program at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, USA (UNLV). He completed his medical education at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his internal medicine training at UNLV. Dr Tun's research interests include endoscopy techniques, NAFLD, alcoholic hepatitis, and fecal microbiota transplantation.
