Shalini Prasad, PhD, is Cecil H. and Ida A. Green Professor of Systems Biology and the Department Head of Bioengineering at the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Texas Dallas, USA. Dr Prasad is Director of the Biomedical Microdevices and Nanotechnology Laboratory, which develops novel sensor technologies ranging from wearable technologies, portable diagnostics to defense and environmental monitors. She is a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Society of Laboratory Automation and Screening.
