The Journal of Cancer Survivorship is seeking submissions for an upcoming special section
The lived experiences of adolescent and young adult cancer (AYA) survivors: Narratives and evidence
The aim of the Journal of Cancer Survivorship: Research and Practice is to provide a multidisciplinary global forum for new knowledge related to those following primary treatment for cancer. There are major gaps in the understanding and management of the survivorship needs of individuals first diagnosed between the ages of 15-39, a group defined by the National Cancer Institute as adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors. For this special section, the Journal is interested in highlighting patient-written, first account narratives of the unique survivorship challenges faced by AYA survivors and co-publishing these written testimonies with current evidence of science and care written by commissioned scientific experts.
The series will include one introduction by section editors, three scoping reviews each coupled with personal lived experience pieces on the same topic. There will be seven articles in this special section in total.
